A new start-up has launched a Kickstarter to fund wearable tech that's affordable for everyone.
Zuzance prototypes currently feature NFC chips embedded in various locations on a hoodie. The chips are much like those used in contactless card payments, but these will activate different functions on your smartphone.
Simply tap your NFC enabled device on an area of the hoodie and an application is activated. Zuzance clothing is not designed with a specific purpose in mind - they will be flexible and customisable. If the $5,000 funding target is reached, the end goal is to produce a line of clothing that is not limited to smartphones, eventually expanding a line of clothing that goes beyond NFC.
Unlike most wearable tech to date, Zuzance is seeking an entry point into all markets and the first items will be priced at just $50. Although so far the clothes only work with Android phones, the team hopes to change this with future iterations, as well as develop an NFC iPhone case.
