Zerim-Liftan is a florist and specialty food store located in Israel. The brand was in need of an update so it invited design studio 200404 on-board to help out. What resulted was a tiny modular store, open 24 hours a day, and selling a small and uniquely packaged selection of items such as handmade chocolates, coffee and gift boxes from the wider product range.

Merchandise is displayed in recycled green milk crates and other baskets and boxes that have been gathered from local businesses and delivery companies. Window displays and the product selection are moved around on a regular basis to keep the space looking new and fresh. The most interesting feature of the store is that is operates on a trust system, where there are no sales staff and instead customers serve themselves and pay via credit card machines.

As online retailers continue to up their game and take sales from bricks and mortar stores, it’s interesting to see the landscape of offline retail changing and evolving, with experiments in new formats and concepts.
