YR Store in Shoreditch Boxpark was an installation that featured interactive touch-pods and the world’s only live all-over digital printing process, giving designers and the general public the opportunity to create one-off patterned and printed T-shirts available to take away within minutes.

After the success of YR Store, and the demand for personalised garments rapidly growing, the pair are releasing a fully interactive customised fashion app. Consumers can design bespoke T-shirts from their iPhone or iPad, the garment will then be printed and delivered within 24 hours of placing the order. As well as clothing, YR store are now printing tote bags and iPhone covers.

The app comes at a time when fashion and technology are becoming more and more integrated. Uniqlo created a similar app UTme! for budding fashion designers to upload images onto T-shirts. If this really is the dawn of the ‘Maker’s Revolution’, is this the first step to consumers creating their own clothing from scratch?
