Comic books just got cool again. The ultimate creative partnership between Justin Quirk and Warren Holder has birthed the first volume of Yellowman, an un-typically un-geeky graphic novel.Justin Quirk is writer/editor for leading publications including House, Esquire and The Guardian, while Warren Holder has worked as a concept artist for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Together they have created Yellowman, a new comic book mini-series.The dark tale is set in Victorian London and has been described as recalling ‘the best of Lynch’s Elephant Man, Iain Sinclair’s White Chappell, Scarlet Tracings and Campbell & Moore’s From Hell’ while maintaining originality. The comic book is presented in an unlabelled black envelope with a slick spot-varnish cover. Copies of the first part of the series can be bought at London’s comic book hub, Gosh.
