Milan based design studio, MammaFotogramma, have developed an innovative architectural material that makes it easy to create complex geometric shapes with a wooden surface. WoodSkin is made by adhering CNC-cut triangular tiles of plywood to a layer of vinyl mesh, resulting in a highly flexible sheet with the hardness and texture of wood.

Many complex surface materials require understructures to provide support, but the integrity of WoodSkin means that builders can experiment with different shapes in a much more iterative way, with the option to add structural supports if necessary.
