Windowpane is an exhibition launching at our 18 Hewett Street gallery to mark the release of cartoonist Joe Kessler’s first solo book. The book, synonymously titled Windowpane, has been risograph printed at Victory Press and published by Breakdown Press. It consists of a collection of seven short stories that capture his confident and expressive style. Loosely connected by a bridging theme of ‘fire’, the allegorical content of the stories is as impressive as the aesthetic output. Having made its debut at this year’s Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival, the exhibition will celebrate the book’s UK release by showcasing screen prints, process separations and original drawings – all of which will be on sale, alongside the book, throughout the duration of the show.

Having already produced comics for an impressive array of publications such as Nobrow Press, It’s Nice That and Landfill Editions, we are pleased to be involved in this exciting step forward in Joe’s no doubt prosperous cartooning career. To see our gallery transformed by his work, please join us for the private view on Thursday the 22nd November from 7-10pm. The show will then run until the 2nd December.
