Last night saw Big Dada Recordings host Dobie's album launch party, as well as the private view of his print exhibition in our gallery space, 18 Hewett Street.  The film maker-cum-music producer has created an exhibition of his work gathered over his long career as a documenter of various London youth cultures.

From his time in the late 80‘s spent with skaters in Southbank to hanging out with Covent Garden’s break dancing crew, the show features the documenter’s most iconic shots. As well as shots of tricks and live shows, Dobie documented the day to day life of his friends and associates, offering a unique snapshot of a time and place and the optimism and escape that skating and music offerd. Featuring stars of the skate world such as Steve Caballero, Bod Boyle, Neil Blender plus giants of hip hop including The Fearless Four and Whodini, the exhibition features prints and a rolling slide show.

Loads of people came down to the private view to enjoy the DJs, exhibition and jugs of Wray and Nephews rum cocktails. The exhibitions open until 11th February so be sure to come down and check it out for yourself.
