Live the high life on the high seas with a new multi-purpose platform
Modular thinking is changing how we live in design studio Derlot's latest creation. Waterscape is an exclusive floating waterfront space that can be adapted to its user’s requirements. The platform can be an add-on space to your house, or, for those desperately in need, a helicopter pad.
Essentially, the space can take whatever function you want from it. Accessories can be clipped on depending on what you need and one-metre buoyancy compartments can be moved around to create a wide variety of shapes and sizes. You can add seating, planters, umbrellas, ice boxes, power boxes for running electronic equipment, ladders, mooring cleats, and even an optional strip of LED lighting should you want to set the mood, or need a safe place to land that helicopter. The decking material can be also be customised, and to keep things environmentally friendly, all of the components can be disassembled and recycled.
We’ve seen modular phones and modular headphones, now the modular madness has extended to our living spaces. It makes sense; people are increasingly customising products and spaces to reduce waste and address particular needs.
