Brooklyn-based indie band The Drums shamelessly surrender to the waves of reality surveillance and online voyeurism with the launch of their new online channel Visiomento. Rather than make an attempt at Indie-style rebellion in response to the exhibitionist nature of the cyber age, The Drums exploit the trend and offer their audience an insight into their world through the new website. Through the channel, viewers can glimpse the inside of The Drums’ studio, watch interviews with the band’s favourite artists, and hear previews of songs from their forthcoming album. A new episode is broadcast every week. Have a look at the first one above. People increasingly want to know more about what goes on behind the scenes of their favourite brands, products, and food. We've seen clothing stores such as 3x1 Made Here in New York create workshops within their spaces to let people see exactly how products are made. Now musicians are using this trend too by creating public platforms to expose their private world.
