Yves Behar – the award-winning designer behind the August Smart Lock– presents a smart cup for product engineering firm Mark One that detects not only what you’re drinking, but the nutritional content of it, too. All displayed in real-time.  

When used with the Vessyl smartphone app, the sleek cup can display the levels of fat, calories, sugars and caffeine in any liquid you pour into it. Water, coffee, Coke, beer – Vessyl knows what’s inside it. To ensure you’re hydrating properly, Vessyl also features a built-in hydration detector called Pryme. Enter details like age, weight and height into the Vessyl app, and the cup’s futuristic bar of light will tell you how much water you need to drink.

Whilst activity trackers have become fairly common, Vessyl represents the other half of the self-tracking equation – monitoring what we consume throughout the day in an effort to help us make more informed lifestyle changes.
