To celebrate its new Commuter range of cycle-friendly clothing, Levi’s has teamed up with retailer Urban Outfitters to open a travelling bike repair shop in the US. The tour recently began at Ace Hotel in New York, and will move on to various branches of Urban Outfitters across 16 different cities.   Not only does the store provide customers with the chance to check out the brand's new cycling range and have clothes customised on the spot, it will also feature a handpicked selection of expert mechanics who will be on hand to tune up bikes, answer queries and generally provide advice about bike maintenance. Best of all, it’s completely free. There seems to be a new wave of proactive consumers who have a DIY mentality and are keen to learn new skills and crafts. Levi’s has cleverly associated itself with this, and provided a place where people can learn more, as well as provide a convenient service to help the growing number of cyclists in the city. Similar to the Levi's Food x Film workshop that we recently featured, the shop brings people with similar interests together and promotes knowledge sharing amongst them.
