After the 90, there are still 1350 minutes left to play...we’re all for that. Umbro's latest project takes its name from the idea that away from the 90 on the pitch, there’s still 1350 minutes left in the day to score in all the other aspects of your life...until you’re back on the pitch. As the football-lovers’ go to brand for everything footie related, Umbro now launches the Diamond Icons line of off-pitch apparel so you can keep yourself looking fresh off the pitch. Diamond Icons is an entire line of throwback references with the classic Umbro diamond taping on its shirts and colours (dark blue, orange and light blue) inspired by the 1978 World Cup. The legendary brand’s incredible history with the sport gives the collection a mega strong nostalgia you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else. For those of us that may not spend a lot of time kicking a ball around, Diamond Icons gives us a way to show our colours in the freshest threads. For the launch they’ve enlisted the help of Ewen Spencer to shoot tattooed footballers Juan Vargas and Darren Bent during their own 1350, getting inked in Florence and Newcastle respectively. You can check out the films here. The recently relaunched city guide london.unlike.net features a short film with tattoo artist Matty D’Arienzo that follows the same grain as the 1350 clips. For London, Matty D’Arienzo holds the same qualities recognised in Vargas and Bent: dedication to tattoo culture, a strong connection to traditional aesthetics in his work and of course…an eye for fashion. You can check out how Matty lives his own 1350 here. It’s time to play.
