Created by a group of product designers at Woke studio, TZOA has been set up as a Kickstarter to produce the first wearable enviro-tracker.

The user-friendly device monitors the environment and delivers real time air quality and UV metrics. Having this sort of information (which is currently very limited), so readily available could be used to help plan out bike routes, check the cleanliness of your home or even alert you when the pollen count is set to spike. It works by using a state of the art optical air quality sensor that detects particle matter, highlighting ones that could cause permanent damage. Apart from measuring air quality it also tracks UV and light, which can increase or decrease your productivity levels – depending on whether you are getting too much or too little.

This alternative to the usually expensive and complicated tools gives us access to information that we may not have even considered before, it engages interest and allows us to understand and relate to our surroundings. We are very aware of new diet fads or how drinking more water can benefit our health, but clean air is just as important. Now you can view the quality of the air you are breathing as easily as checking the traffic on the roads or the weather outside.

In a similar vein we recently looked at the Digioxide device also monitors air quality and even prints out a mini report, however its interesting to see a more commercial wearable that addresses the same concerns.
