After almost two years of being exclusively an online magazine, Warsaw-based design blog This Is Paper is finally taking the plunge, and producing their first printed issue, in an effort says editor Zuzzana Gasior to give their stories "tangible form".

Featuring interviews with some of the most forward-thinking and inspiring individuals in the design world today, including Protein favourites Faye Toogood and Phoebe English, the magazine will have a focus on the work of artists whom they believe to be from a strong conceptual background, revealing the creative process behind these projects.

Niche publications such as This Is Paper have been making a resurgence in recent years. Call it a response to the unrelenting impermanent flow of digital content, or a nostalgia for simpler times where printed press reigned supreme, it seems that despite the declining overall marketshare, purveyors such as This Is Paper are putting up a fight to rescue the format from obscurity.

To get their 'Inaugural Issue' off the ground, This Is Paper are enlisting the help of their readership, creating a quasi-crowd-sourced initiative whereby the first 250 people to pre-order the magazine receive a special gift as thanks. To back the project, buy your issue here.
