The Young British Foodies is a new food award that hopes to find the next generation of culinary talent.   The first stage of the selection process is an open submission where applicants are asked to send in a worded statement about their work with any relevant images or video.   These application will then be judged by an expert panel, including culinary creatives Bompas and Parr for the Experimental category and mixologist Tony Conigliaro of 69 Colebrooke Row for the Alcohol category. The whole event will culminate in an awards night and an exhibition of the chosen talents work.  The award covers many of the food trends that we've reported on this summer, such as the street food seen at pop-up events like the Red Market in London, and the trend for meat appreciation with events such as Meatopia in New York.  Categories open for submissions include alcohol, experimental, coffee, chefs, street food, backing and meat.
