A world first, The Wrong - New Digital Art Biennale has officially opened its 'doors' to visitors. Working to promote and push contemporary digital art to a wider global audience, the biennial event has selected the best of the best from across the web, embracing the still-young talents of today’s digital art scene.
Eschewing an overall theme, The Wrong instead divides work into thirty online pavilions, each designated to a curator/artist who is at liberty to do with their space as they see fit. Alongside work from known and up-and-coming artists, there is also an 'unlimited' pavilion, (dubbed the Homeostasis Lab), open to public participation and a 'META' pavilion which will launch later this month, exclusively featuring artwork generated by the curators.
In addition to its online home, The Wrong also has a physical presence at several art spaces in cities around the world. The Wrong Embassies will bring elements of digital art to the real world with live performances, workshops and exhibitions. The Wrong Book is also set to be released at the conclusion of the biennial, bound in "random mode" so that every copy is unique and ensuring the permanent documentation of a milestone that is transient by its very nature.
The Wrong runs through December 31st, 2013 at thewrong.org.
