High fashion has gone hi-tech with a new virtual museum by fashion brand Valentino.

Created by designer Valentino Caravani and label partner Giancarlo Giammetti, the Valentino Virtual Museum application was initially showcased at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). To develop the application, the designers collected 50 years worth of clothing, photographs, sketches and videos from 1968 to the present day. The extensive archive is based within a panoramic virtual space which navigates through seven themed rooms. Videos of fashion shows and a masterclass with the designer Valentino himself are also available within the virtual experience. The application is an effective personal tour through the label as the user can click on clothing for information and media coverage expressing the item's relevance in the fashion and social sense.

Renowned for its traditional and classic concepts within fashion, the Valentino Virtual Museum is not only unconventional but a great display of how such a brand can expand in the digital era.

Compiling the history of Valentino within this virtual platform means that the label can attract a younger, tech-savvy generation yet maintain its integral concepts of style. The first of its kind for any fashion label, the Valentino Virtual Museum will definitely ensure the label remains one step ahead as Giammetti emphasises that it uses a 'language understandable even to future generations.'
