Sound artist, designer and musician Yuri Suzuki has designed a piece that explores the realms of sound from all across the world, both metaphorically and physically. Suzuki created a concept spherical 'record' with niche grooves representing the outlines of the geographical landmass of each country. When a needle stylus paseses over each country, it plays a collection of recordings collected by Yuri across 4 years of travelling around the world.

Lasting around 30 minutes, the record travels across this musical globe emitting sounds ranging from traditional folk music to national anthems, popular music to spoken word broadcasts. Together they form 'The Sound of the Earth'.

Like Graphics Speak and Evil Eye, it's interesting to see another project exploring the way music is evolving, altering the way we consume and experience it. Check out the video above for more information.
