The Russian Pavilion at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale is a dazzling display of QR coding which offers an interactive and futuristic experience. Masterminded by Sergei Tchoban and Sergey Kuznetsov of SPEECH Tchoban & Kuznetstov, the pavilion walls, floor and ceiling are completely covered in QR codes which, when accessed, showcase plans for a new tech city due to open near Moscow in 2017.

Focused on scientific, technological and medical innovation, the Skolkovo Science and Technology Centre development will house a projected 500 companies specialising in IT, biomedical, nuclear, space and energy research. Walking around the exhibition, information on the development can be accessed via tablets, with visitors encouraged to actively explore the plans for Skolkovo through the digital landscape.
