For anyone who overdid the Sherries and Eggnogs over the festive period, the thought of a 7.1% India Pale Ale probably makes you feel as queasy as you did after that last cheese board. No one wants you to jeopardise dry January but a new beer called The Problem Solver doesn't even require you to finish a bottle, instead it advises you to drink until you reach your creative peak.
Scientific studies suggest that at an alcohol level of precisely 0.075%, the average person produces their most creative thinking. With this in mind, CP+B Copenhagen and Rocket Brewing Company have created The Problem Solver, a hand crafted IPA, designed not to get you drunk but to get you in the perfect state for solving problems.
An indicator on the side of the bottle makes it easy to find your creative peak by suggesting how much a man or woman should drink (based on their weight) to achieve the optimum 0.0075%. Any man weighing less than 83kg is advised against finishing the bottle if he is in fact striving for creative excellence.
The brand has also created an initiative called ‘The Problem Solvers,’ which plans to help local communities and charity organizations by solving problems over a beer.
While it’s difficult to believe that The Problem Solver will ever actually do what it says on the tin, we have to commend its brilliantly tongue in cheek marketing ploy.
