Esteemed electronic musician Nicolas Jaar has announced the release of his new compilation, Dont Break My Heart, will be in the form of a physical cube. 'The Prism', is a small electronic aluminum box that contains a playlist of the musician's one-off releases and unreleased tracks, as well as material from other artists including Will Epstein and Just Friends.

The device can be plugged into a computer where four simple buttons (play, pause, skip forward, skip back) control it. Two sets of headphones can be plugged in to encourage enjoying the music with friends, with the twist that if one of the headphone jacks is empty, it emits a bright ray of light. The Prism is the first release of Jaar's interdisciplinary production company, Clown and Sunset Aesthetics and is aimed to encourage people to connect and interact.

Similar to the Dry the River campaign we featured in February, this release highlights how artists are harnessing physical, tangible objects to enhance the audio experience for listeners. Watch a teaser for The Prism here, and pre-order it via the CSA website.
