Protein is proud to announce our collaboration with Mount Gay rum, telling the story of four Original Spirits: James Tucker (The Aesthetic Union), Pete Raho (Gowanus Furniture Co.), Brock Willsey (Vividbraille) and Ernesto Roman (Photographer). These four artists and craftsmen are modern day Original Spirits who embody the same sense of craft as the Original Spirit, Mount Gay - time honored techniques, a human touch, quality products - stories worth telling.

From sailing in San Francisco with shipwright-turned-letterpress printer James Tucker, journeying through New York City with Surface magazine’s ‘Avant Guardian’ competition winner Ernesto Roman, to integrating Morse Code into bespoke, wooden cutting boards with Pete Raho in Brooklyn and exploring menswear designer Brock Willsey’s Bucktown, Chicago studio, we’re excited to share their stories with you on The Original Spirits site today.
