THIS WAS IN 2012 SO DONT POSTThe Musical Torch interactive exhibition was inspired by a series of art and music workshops that University students from Academy of St. Martins In The Field and Central Saint Martins put on with 140 children ranging from age to 7 to 11 years of age. The students were given a challenge to design a visitor experience that would interact with people in a museum environment; and  what they came up with was a combination of music composition and casted children's hands that was eventually displayed as a large painting machine that resembled a music box that could be operated by a hand crank. The Musical Torch is an example of how playful collaboration can turn into an inspiring piece of interactive art.
