Taking traditional devices and applying smart technology in creative ways seems to be happening more frequently. The Bicycle Barometer, for example, logs travel data and helps make that tricky decision over whether to cycle to work or not. Running along similar lines is this, the Image Toaster. Using a Google image search of the date, the toaster ‘prints’ an appropriate image directly onto the toast. The toaster is still in prototype stage, but potentially, were it to go into production, would offer helpful reminders as well as adding a little spontaneity into morning  routines.
