Children are always asking questions. About the sun, the animals and themselves. They also love games, especially ones on screens. This is what inspired the founder of Tiny Bop, a New York based children's design studio, Raul Gutierrez when he created his new app– The Human Body.

It teaches kids exactly how our bodies work – through fun, engaging design and guides curious youngsters through the different systems within our bodies. Each system is represented with a certain layer, which can be peeled back, allowing to users play and explore. Children can also see what happens to the body when we eat or hear music. They can even have a closer look at exactly how the brain functions.

Tiny Bop, a New York-based team of designers and developers, have just launched the new series of educational apps called the Explorer's Library with The Human Body being the first app released. Its design was inspired by old biology books, where each 'layer' within our bodies is transparent. The app is available for download for iPhone and iPad, and has been translated into 50 languages.

Like iPad based, climate change fable, The Jörgits, this is another example of next stage of evolution of children's books that aim to both engage and educate their readers.
