Last night saw the first of two Gourmand Supper Clubs hosted at 18 Hewett Street. An exclusive 4 course menu was created by Protein's favourite hotspot Rita’s Bar and Dining, with cocktails crafted by their in-house mixologist Missy Flynn. The intimate affair attended by 15 guests took place around the beautiful Man Table designed and painted by French artist Jean Jullien.

The exceptionally well-executed menu included whiting cruddo, confit rabbit, unthinkably tender onglet and one of Rita’s infamous pies to round things off. The accompanying cocktails, all made using El Jimador Tequila, perfectly offset each dish and included a Sage and Roasted Smoked Pineapple Fizz and a pretty serious Plum Manhattan with Absinthe. The experience was further enhanced by the incredible work from the current exhibition of work from the past two issues of The Gourmand.

The sold out series concludes tomorrow with a menu created by Michelin star chef Nuno Mendes, founder of the acclaimed Viajante and Corner Room restaurants.

The Gourmand Exhibition - which is open to the public - finishes this Sunday.
