Google+ and Topshop recently came together to create The Future of the Fashion Show (not to be confused with The Future Catwalk). The event, which happened on February 17th, offered Topshop fans several unique views of the action, as well as a additional opportunities to interact with the brand.

The Future of the Fashion Show wasn't quite as forward-looking as it sounds. In early January, Topman 360 let people see Topman's newest collection via a live-streamed fashion show, an event that drew some 2 million viewers. What Google+'s Future of the Fashion Show added this time around was behind-the-scenes video diaries from some of the models, entitled 'Road to the Runway'. Come the day of the show, they were outfitted with real-time cameras that broadcast from their point of view. Topshop fans could also join Google Hangouts with the label's design team, as well as curate their own collection with the 'Be The Buyer' app.

What Google+ and Topshop produced wasn't groundbreaking because it wasn't the distant future of the fashion show; it was the immediate future, which quickly became the present. Except many more labels to follow suit.
