Selfridges has created a series of short films to celebrate the launch of its new Women’s Designer Galleries. Designers such as Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, Dries Van Noten, Gareth Pugh and Rick Owens were each asked to commission a director of their choice, under the guidance of curator Emma Reeves, that aimed to capture the essence of the modern woman. The finished films (such as the Comme des Garçons film featured above) are currently being shown in a special gallery space at The Old Selfridges Hotel, which has been created by the project's art director Simon Costin. The films can also be viewed online until 25th March.

Through its recent campaigns such as Words, Words, Words and The Museum of Everything in the Ultralounge, Selfridges continues to align itself with contemporary art, film and literature. It’s great to see such a hugely prestigious brand working with and supporting emerging talent across the arts world.
