After the success of the High Line project in Chelsea, New York, architects JamesRamsey and Dan Barasch have decided to this time go underground with a similaridea. The Delancey Underground Project aims to transform a disused trolleyterminal in the city into an urban park that will provide a place of inspiration forthe public and new opportunities and programmes for the local community. It willalso incorporate green technology that will reduce carbon emissions, refect lightunderground and allow vegetation to survive indoors.

The 'Low Line' responds to a growing need for the reinvention of redundant urbanenvironments. In cities where space and resources are limited people are often forced tobe smart with design and utilise new technologies in order to improve the areas inwhich we live, work and play.
