British development organisation Urban Spaces has opened a market in New York made entirely from disused shipping containers. The Dakalb Market opened last weekend and is filled with food vendors, retail stores, artists, craft stalls and even a record shop. The space will integrate elements of the community with a vegetable garden, a kitchen and a classroom area.

We featured the plans for Dakalb Market back in March this year, so we're excited to see this creative and sustainable space now open to the public. It will be there for a whole year, so head down to 33 Flatbush Avenue Ext in Brooklyn to see the market for yourself.
