The holidays are coming up meaning a solid fat chance our waistlines will ever look the same come January. To make matters worse, a new store in New York’s East Village has opened housing up to 36 chocolate brands from up to 10 global nations – talk about indulgence. With a name like The Chocolate Library, renowned brands such as Jacques Torres, Michel Cluizel, Newhaus and Lindt find a home next to more luxurious varieties such as Genaveh from Luxembourg and Pacari’s Ecuadorean bars.

Owner Byron Bennet plans to design a bespoke Dewey Decimal System to provide consumers with guidance on how to uncover desired products, offering a highly thought out method for chocolate lovers to learn and become specialized in their knowledge.

Sadly the store is undergroing criticism from New York State who is challenging the use of the term ‘library’ in it’s name. Business Corporation Law states that using the words school, academy, institute and kindegarten in brand names require consent to prevent misrepresentation to the public of the nature of the business.

Seems ludicrious that anyone would think the words 'Chocolate' and 'Library' in the same sentence to mean anything other than heaven.
