A barbeque book, you’d suppose, would contain a number of recipes for marinades and skewers and possibly a few tips on how not to scorch the lot or leave everyone glued to the loo. You wouldn’t expect it to contain every bit of paraphernalia (aside from the BBQ itself) required for a spot of slap up alfresco dining.

To promote Tramontina’s new cookware range, JWT Brazil have created ‘The Biblia Definitiva Do Churrasco’ or ‘The Bible of Barbeque’. Chapter 1 has everything you need to get things going; a thick page of charcoal, a fire lighter page and a page that folds into fan.  Chapter 2 contains an apron, an aluminum sheet, a knife sharpening block, a chopping board and a page of salt... Finally, chapter 3 contains a place mat, a tray and a kitchen cloth. All of the resources actually pull out of the spine of the book. Only a few "master barbecue chefs" received the books, though the agency is creating a simplified version to be sold in stores.

This isn't the first ‘utility book’ we’ve seen. The Drinkable Book’s pages contain useful guidelines for water purification that can also be ripped off and used as water filters for 30 days. Each volume comes packed in a 3D printed filter box, so users only have to slide a page in and pour water over it to purify up to 5,000 litres of liquid.
