We have previously featured Moments Factory project, where a huge art installation was installed in Lax Airport. This time, Sydney was lucky enough to have its own public show with music and lights, located in Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal, a venue that looks out over the Opera House.

Terminal Projekt was built as part of the Vivid Sydney Festival 2013. Large geodesic dome structure brought together electronic music and arts, culminating in a big party, featuring work from ASUS, Intel and Finely Tuned.

Visitors were free to engage with the interactive installation through touchpads, triggering various colours and patterns. Various DJs, such as Tensnake and Jimmy Edgar played over the three day period, while the visuals were mapped out by Kit Webster.

Unconventional, yet heavily populated spaces, like airport terminals, seem to be growing increasingly appealing as choices for public art projects.
