With the school year beginning and a new batch of students off to university, what better time to open a discussion about the effectiveness of our current educational system. Taking place the Roundhouse on 17th September, TEDx London will bring together a group of inspirational speakers to talk about the future of schooling. The event by TED in partnership with Protein will aim to address what we should be teaching in schools, as well as how we can ensure that bad practices from the past are overturned for good.

One of the speakers will be Ken Robinson, who is known for his work on Unlocking Creativity, a blueprint for change created after his role as an advisor to governments and businesses both here and abroad, as well as being a central figure in creating a strategy for culture in the Northern Ireland peace protest. Other speakers include Dougald Hine whose 'Spacemakers' project transformed the once derelict Granville Arcade in Brixton Market, and Jude Kelly, the artistic director for the Southbank Centre, as well as a number of students who will speak about their experiences.
