Teardrop is a playful installation that visitors can experience visually and tactilely, but also through their taste buds. Commissioned by the DordtYart Centre for Contemporary Art in Netherlands, Marije Vogelzang’s art project consists of five kilometers of rope and 24 glass pipettes. Selected ropes that have teasing tags attached to them – ”I will always be there for you”, or ”A fly just flew into my mouth” –  can be pulled and a drop of unnamed flavour will be released in the mouth of a person standing beneath one of the three pipette chandeliers. This way, Teardrop becomes not only an interesting sensory experience, but also an exciting game of trust.
