Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum has created an app that groups exhibits according to a visitor's mood. It caters for all sorts, such as 'hungover', 'romantic' or 'cheerful'. The museum gives free headphones to visitors so they can use the Mood App to choose an audio tour according to how they’re feeling. The tours are narrated by the museum’s Blikopeners, (young people aged 15 – 19 who work at the museum), however with the help of the Blikopeners, visitors can create their very own audio guides, by selecting artworks, picking a mood and even recording their own commentary.  The visitor-created tours are then available for others to listen to.

It’s not unusual for companies to engage the public by curating experiences that pair different senses together. The Sound Bite playlist offered on British Airways’ long haul flights provides musical accompaniment specifically tailored to the flavours or the provenance of each dish on their menu.
