Squito is a throwable camera invented by Boston-based artist/designer, Steve Hollinger. The camera, about the size of a tennis ball, is thrown into the air while it takes a 360º panoramic image or stabilised video. The device is equipped with three cameras that capture the frames in sequences which are seamlessly stitched together using inbuilt software. Using a sensor, micro controller and image processor, Steve is also developing a prototype that will allow the ball to be used in search and rescue missions.
