Not only does this music streaming service cater to what you are doing, it also adjusts itself according to the weather around you
It's no secret that the weather has an effect on our outlook, and so it follows it can also influence the music we want to listen to. With this in mind, a music-streaming service has partnered with the Weather Channel to automate appropriate music for all meteorological occasions.
Songza teamed up with the Weather Channel to curate playlists based on real-time weather forecasts, catering for a variety of activities and moods - from “working out” and “unwinding” to the gloomy-sounding “looking at pictures of your ex”. Now these will align with the weather, even taking subtle queues from temperature and precipitation to understand the sort of sounds the listener prefers to hear according to subconscious reactions to the environment.
The Weather Channel has also announced it will provide data to other brands through the Weather FX ad exchange. This will allow partners to access real time weather information and use it as a contextual service to tailor products to individual customers.
Another company that puts understanding the user at the forefront of its work is Aether - having recently announced the Aether Cone, a minimally designed 'thinking' smart speaker that learns more about the user's preferences the more it is listened to.
