Shadow
Not just an alarm clock, this app collects data from your dreams and helps you understand what they might mean
We spend about a third of our life fast asleep. Deep in the obscure world of our dreams to only not remember any of it the following morning. As a result Hunter Lee Soik, a New York entrepreneur, has developed Shadow, the dream catcher of the 21st century.
Essentially Shadow is an alarm clock app, however what sets it apart is that it is designed to help you remember your dreams. A series of escalating alarms makes the transition from sleep to awakening slower and easier, which helps us remember our dreams better. Promptly after waking up the app asks you to either record your dream freely via text or voice or to answer five to ten questions about the dream. The culminated information will create dream patterns that will help us discover more about ourselves and our subconscious. Shared in the cloud Shadow will be able to analyze the meaning of dreams connected to certain events and locations around the world.
Technology designed to offer a window into our emotional and mental wellbeing seems to be appearing more frequently, however unlike the Emotiv Insight headset we looked at recently, Shadow is more accessible to your average consumer.
