Installation artist Simon Heijdens is displaying his latest work at the Now Gallery London until December. Using modular glass planes and a high-tech layer of 'electronic skin' that monitors outside weather, how visitors experience it totally depends on factors such as time of day, wind speed and passing objects. As it detects readings from the outside world, the glass panes shift in levels of translucence. This creates constantly warping kaleidoscopic-like projections inside that change on the whims of the environment.

Art installations that take inspiration and data from the outside world seem quite popular at the moment. Earlier this year we looked at Ryuichi Sakamoto's Forest Symphony installation that uses data garnered from trees all around the world to create its visuals.
