Arvid Häusser, a 23 year old student at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, has designed a wall-mounted, porcelain and wood coffee machine that separates out each of the coffee-making stages. By deconstructing the different phases, the beautifully crafted Sepple, gives transparency to the process as well bringing an apothecary-esque and professional aesthetic to the home kitchen.

At a point where people are becoming increasingly fastidious over, and knowledgeable about coffee, this new concept device will enable the at-home connoisseur to follow in the footsteps of experts such as DunneFrankowski who have taken a similar educational approach to coffee making and drinking.

The scientific nature of the Sepple is also a great example of the consumer’s increasing interest in artisanal food practices and the desire to step away from mass production.
