Melbourne’s coffee lab has travelled to London to offer the capital’s coffee lovers an immersive brew experience. Sensory Lab was born in Melbourne, and after successfully launching the St. ALi cafe in London’s Clerkenwell area, the Australian roasters is spreading its beans further with the opening of Sensory Lab in central London. Sensory Lab is designed to create a dialogue between its expert baristas and customers, laying emphasis on the idea of education. Visitors can ask questions about the origin of the beans, watch baristas prepare the single filter coffee, and take part in tastings and classes. The growth in specialty coffee houses reflects people’s desire to experience coffee differently. We recently featured Paris’s Coutume Cafe, which similarly breaks the mould of traditional coffee shops to offer its coffee-savvy clients an opportunity for involvement in the process, to learn something new and celebrate all things coffee.
