A self-portrait machine that enables anyone to effortlessly draw a picture of themselves is on display at hacker collective NYC Resistor's interactive show in Brooklyn.

As you rest your hand on a small board and hold a pen over the edge, the board starts to move from tracking the contours of your face as scanned by the attached computer. And despite the progeny of the portrait, it still has a very handmade and non-digital feel.

Designed by Matt Mets and Kyle McDonald, not only does this quirky invention have potential to provide endless amounts of fun but it's a strong example of hand-craft and robotic-tech – something we explore further in our Briefing on Digital Craft.
