Felicia Pennant's Season Magazine looks set to satiate the needs of the oft-overlooked design conscious female football fan.

For too long, advertising and marketing budgets have been predicated on the preferences of the middle class white male. However, a contemporary urge to combat this culture of exclusion has given rise to a number of creative initiatives geared towards deconstructing it.

This outmoded attitude is perhaps best illustrated in the world of of football publications. Now, Season magazine (the brainchild of editor-in-chief Felicia Pennant) is taking a stand on behalf of female football fans the world over.

Fittingly, the first issue revolves around the theme of The Female Fan and features interviews with FKA Twigs' make up artist and Liverpool-supporter Naoko Scintu alongside British Vogue’s associate fashion editor Verity Parker.

Natalie Doto handles Season’s design with aplomb, while Alina Negoita, Emily Rachel Rose, Claire Pepper and Patricia Karallis provide the photography while set design comes from Isabel + Helen. By utilising the creative talents of the aforementioned contributors, Season promises to cater to fans that appreciate football as much they do well curated design.

The knowingly glossy pink magazine comes complete with football trump cards and free stickers by illustrator Charlotte Trounce, whose work also peppers Season magazine’s pages.

Used in conjunction with a cause, independent magazines have emerged as an impactful method of communication. They can offer contributors, (and a marginalised consumer base), a means to say what they want, how they want.

You can purchase the first issue and its accompanying football stickers via the Season website.
