The winter months are miserable. If you’re not saving for Christmas, you’re skint from Christmas. If you’ve not got a cold, you will do probably will do soon. And if it’s not raining, well, it will be tomorrow. It’s no wonder people get S.A.D.

As a response to Seasonal Affective Disorder - a wintery affliction that saps one’s gusto - South London’s Studio Calm and Collected have created the S.A.D Rescue Pack, an assimilation of contemporary illustration, written articles, design and narrative art.

Limited to 100 numbered copies, the publication contains 33 artistic interpretations of S.A.D, designed to replenish low reserves of creativity and colour in the reader. Studio C&C have worked with Ditto Press and GFSmith to Risoprint the material.

In addition to the Rescue Pack, we here at Protein will be providing a S.A.D refuge in our Studio 2 Space. The space will feature the Chromo Colour Clock installation by Protein's CEO Will Rowe. The installation will assist in the release of serotonin and melatonin which play a vital role in balancing your daily, monthly (lunar) and annual body clocks. The space will also feature work from all the artists contributing to the project as well as S.A.D SKY, a site specific lighting installation from environmental design consultants, Max Fordham. So don't be S.A.D, come join us Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd February at Protein Studios and get some much needed winter respite.
