Mobile apps are changing our lives as consumers. Smartphones are becoming our wallets, bank accounts and shopping carts. A new mobile app called Roamler is taking this idea even further. Tapping into the online faceless workforce, Roamler is one of the first apps that will let people make cash from their mobile, rather than spending it. Once a person downloads it and signs up to the service, they can take on a number of small assignments in their area. They might be asked to go to a local place to capture and send an image of a site for a potential developer, or act as a temporary merchandiser in a local shop.   Each task is given under the guise of a game - called Roamler ‘missions’. Once each is completed, a person can then earn a small wage of around 2 – 4 EUR. There’s also the chance for people to earn points and badges that take you onto the next level of ‘challenges’. Have a look at the demo above. The app initially launched in Amsterdam in association with Heineken earlier this month, but stay tuned on the Roamler website for the next available locations.
