The Public Painting Machine gave attendees of the Katowice Street Art Festival in Poland the opportunity to become instant artists. An empty retail space  turned art gallery,  showcased sixty collaborative art pieces done by the public. Using a system of pulleys, ropes, brushes and water, passersby were encouraged to try their hand at painting their own masterpieces on the machine that stood in the shop window.

This is a playfully simple example of how public interaction can be achieved without the need for advanced technology.
