Acne Studios features its creative director’s 11-year-old son for AW/15
Normally big fashion brands do their best to make their clothes (and customers) look good when they advertise them – on top of fitting well they attempt to sell a particular lifestyle, as though if you buy the clothes that the famous supermodel wears then, maybe, your life might resemble hers in some inane way.
Acne Studios has interpreted that standard a little differently (and undoubtedly better), with womenswear modelled on 11 year-old Frasse, creative director Jonny Johansson’s son.
He looks completely ludicrous, of course, which is why it’s so fantastic. Far from being about gender, the vision for the campaign, shot for AW15 by Dutch artist Viviane Sassen, was the attitude of a new generation who wore clothes for their intrinsic appeal – their cut and character – rather than their adherence to societal norms.
“I wanted to portray that feeling of first experiences with fashion, like a kid is experimenting with their look for the first time”, says Johansson Sr, explaining the motivation behind dressing Frasse up in heels and a huge pink coat.
