Digital arts organisation onedotzero has teamed up with BAFTA and Rushes to host a panel discussion this Sunday about the convergence of video gaming and film. The Play It Up: Innovation, Films and Gaming talk will discuss how video gaming and film making are being taken back to basics, and how we can learn from the innovative people making work in both fields with little budget.

Speakers will include Dawid Marcinkowski, the writer and director of web-based movie Sufferrosa, Arivind Abraham and Ali Maggs, who have worked on Microsoft’s movie and gaming mash-up web series TimeDancer, and Nick Ryan, the BAFTA-award winning sound engineer behind Papa Sangre, a video game based entirely on sound.

Protein will be getting itself out of bed early to head to the talk, and if you fancy coming too, head over to the event’s Facebook page to find out how you can get tickets.
