Pixel Press
Create video games from drawings with a new app that's looking to turn anyone with a pencil and paper into a game developer.
Always wanted to create your own video game? You may soon be able with just a pencil and paper, without a single coding lesson. Pixel Press are hoping to make this concept a reality by constructing an IOS application with the ability to create simple, side scrolling platform games designed by hand.
Still in the Kickstarter process, this app would allow users to illustrate their own multi-level game onto a piece of squared paper, photograph the design, then allow the application to automatically recognise and apply the relevant code to make it playable. Users can then adapt the game’s physics, character, music and apply colours and textures, creating a truly bespoke gaming experience.Pixel Press allows quant, homemade game design to anyone with a pencil, some paper and an imagination. All the levels created are sharable with friends, forming a community of independent, creative games designers comprised of all age groups.
